For several weeks I have been considering and praying about whether or not to attend the PWOC International Conference in Dallas, Texas, Nov 11-14 (I live in Japan). Three years ago I was at this same point trying to decide if I should go to the West Region PWOC Conference that was held in El Paso, Texas. A chaplain’s wife persuaded me to attend and it was an awesome experience. The speakers and music were so anointed by God that you could feel the heat and power of God’s presence. God used that weekend to teach, develop and empower me with His Spirit to lead women at the local PWOC that year and to minister to my family.

Quin Sherrer, a speaker at the conference, had some wonderful words of wisdom and testimonies she shared that impacted me personally. She spoke about prayer and spiritual warfare and the sphere of influence we have as Christian women over our home, husband, children, and friends. God places women on the front lines to do battle for their loved ones. God gives us authority in the powerful name of Jesus and His blood, to pray protection and deliverance over those He places in our lives. There is Victory in Jesus!

One particular story Quin shared was about a woman that suffered insomnia. Quin suspected she was experiencing an attack by the enemy because she had a picture of a dragon in her home. When the dragon, a symbol of Satan, was removed, the woman no longer was plagued with insomnia. God used this testimony to bring deliverance in my home. My daughter was experiencing insomnia for several weeks prior to the conference. When I returned from the conference, she was still suffering from an inability to sleep. I remembered the story I had heard in El Paso and decided we needed to search my daughter’s room for anything that symbolized the enemy; something that may have opened the door for a spiritual attack. A picture of a dragon that she painted was found tucked in the corner of her room on the floor. I was surprised! I immediately knew God wanted me to hear Quin’s story so I could be used to minister to my daughter. I prayed over her and the bedroom, removed the picture, and God delivered her from insomnia. God is Great!!

Praise God for raising up women to preach the Word of God and share testimonies that impact lives; not only spiritually, but also physically and emotionally. God wants to raise up each one of us, HIS daughters, so that we can declare, The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners. [Is 61:1]

Paul teaches, For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Ephesians 6:12

If you are experiencing an attack by your adversary, Satan, then rebuke the evil one in the name of Jesus and plead the blood of Jesus over your self and household. Be bold to proclaim the Word of God with the authority He has given you through His Son and Trust Him to deliver and bring you Victory!

Hope you will join me in Dallas in November for the PWOC International Conference. I am ready to be empowered and filled with the Spirit from the teaching of Priscilla Shirer, music leader Kari Jobe and all the other wonderful teachers that will be leading workshops. I believe God has a special word for the women who will attend that will impact our lives, our loved ones, and the women we serve in PWOC.

Up from the Grave He arose, with a mighty triumph over His foes.
He arose a victor from the dark domain,  and he lives forever with the saints to reign.
He Arose, He Arose! Halleluhjah! Christ arose!
from the hymn “Up from the Grave He Arose” (Lo in the grave He lay)
Words and Music by Robert Lowry 1826-1899 (Public Domain)

I love the words to this old hymn.  They are so rousing and almost require operatic training to sing, but the joyful exuberance of the message cannot be stopped.  Jesus loved us, while we were still His enemies.  He came to earth to die for the punishment of our sins.  Death couldn’t hold him in the grave, because His sinless life exempted Him from the punishment of death.  He resurrected from the dead and is seated in the highest place of heaven, ruling above every name and power.  He is unstoppable and He is coming again.  His scepter rules the nations with righteousness and justice.  Arise, My Sisters.  Arise from your own grave clothes of sin and sorrow.  Arise, for our Risen Lord has risen, just as He said.  He is ruling above all.  His Kingdom is coming into the earth.  He invites us to join in His own intercession, crying out for righteousness and justice to invade our hearts, our families, to invade our chapels, our neighborhoods, and our world.  He is RISEN!  Arise!

Dear God,  We worship our Risen Saviour, Jesus.  We worship our Risen King, Jesus. We thank you for the precious sacrifice of Your only Son.  We thank you for the radical, humble obedience of the cross.  We thank you that you are Risen, just as You said.  Forgive us when we have tried to live for you wrapped in our own grave clothes of sin and numbed out sorrows.  Free us from ourselves, deliver us from sin and heal our hearts as we open them back up to You..  We choose to arise, as you extend the scepter of your righteousness and justice.  Cleanse us and teach us to pray with you, Your Kingdom Come, Your Will, Be Done!  We arise with you, Risen Lord!  In Jesus’ Highest Name we pray, Amen!

It’s that time of year where sports are at the forefront. The Super Bowl is done, the Final Four (college basketball playoffs) is on the horizon, and MLB (Major League Baseball) spring training is about to begin. Whether you’re a fan or not, there’s one image that I’m sure we can all conjure up: that moment the team knows that victory is theirs, and the traditional Gatorade cooler is literally dumped on the coach’s head and shoulders. It’s a tradition that I’m convinced started with young boys in junior high school and grown men are unable to give up!

That image is one that became powerful to me as I thought about the effects of living water on our spirits. Romans 5:3-5 tells us, “And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings (hmmm: deployment, depression, wayward child, struggling marriage, anxiety, physical ailment), because we know that suffering produces perseverance, perseverance character, and character hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit whom He has given us.”

Do you catch the significance? We have a Gatorade cooler kind of God! He poured, dumped, soaked and drenched us with His living water and continues to offer it to us daily. And the incredible feeling that should give us is not unlike a World Championship! We are on the winning team if we allow God to be the coach of our life.

But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.

II Corinthians 2:14

Dear God,

We thank you for leading us together, in a big triumphant parade of joy in the victory of Jesus Christ.  Lord God, I pray that everywhere we live, work, play and serve we will spread the fragrance of the knowledge of Jesus.  God, we are the fragrance of life to those who are being saved but to those who are perishing we are the smell of death.  God, lift the veil that blinds the minds of unbelievers to the glorious light of the gospel.  I pray today for awareness of the lost around me.  Let my fragrance today smell sweet because of your goodness shining through me.  Let me be the fragrance of life, the life of Christ shining through every surrendered place in me.  It’s not about me.  It’s about the harvest.  We cry out to you to send workers into the ripe harvest fields of our posts, bases, and communities.   We love you.  In Jesus Name, Amen.
