God graces me with an annual word –a memorial stone – enticing me to follow His unique leading. I have learned to prayerfully evaluate my life in light of the work God is doing. I wonder if you might care to join me in a few moments of prayerful evaluation as we consider Galatians 6:7-10.

7Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. 8For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to theSpirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. 9Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. 10So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith. (NASB)

I’m not a farm gal; God has set me down in the midst of rice patties, wheat fields and cabbage patches these last couple of years. I’m observant.

Farming is a lot of work. Hard ground must be plowed up and prepared to receive seed. Planted fields must be cultivated. Are you willing to allow Abba free reign to break up hard areas in your life? Will you cooperate with Him in nourishing the plantings in your life? Some seasons’ planting seem to painfully require reserves beyond our strength.

Snow covered field

Farmers are not easily fooled about what they’ve planted in each field. What is planted will eventually be harvested. Farmers have a distinct plan for each field in which seed is scattered. Do you? Will your seeds produce ruin and decay? Or are you following  His lead in your daily plantings? If so, you WILL reap a life characterized by the eternal.

There are times when fields seem dormant. In the spring green onion shoots are sure to sprout here – I saw the planting. There is no evidence of that harvest this snowy December. At the right time there will be a harvest!

Don’t lose heart! Rest in Him who IS our secret dwelling place and He will bring times of refreshing. Are you planting things of the spirit in your home, marriage, PWOC, work place? Are you waiting for a harvest which hasn’t materialized yet. It WILL – in the  proper, due, opportune time! I eagerly anticipate the reports of harvest in Asia Region.

Alicia Brit Chole shares, “What grows from painful planting is God’s business. But sowing in faith is ours and our faithfulness is never sown in vain.

We aim to simply follow His lead in sowing to the Spirit.

De’Etta Goecker, Asia Region President

To All PWOC.org users –

The weekend of July 9-10, PWOC International will be moving pwoc.org, along with all pwoc.org mailboxes, to a new server with a new provider. While change can be stressful, many of you will agree that this change is a necessary one. Thank you, in advance, for your patience as we work our way through this.

In order to prepare yourself and your mailboxes for this change, please take some time as soon as possible to ensure a problem free transition. If you take advantage of the online address book feature, please export that data right away. (Instructions for doing so are below.) If there are mail messages you don’t want to lose, please take steps to print or forward those.

When this move occurs, everything in your mailbox will be lost and unrecoverable!

Once the move is complete, your new mailbox will be ready for you to explore. Your username (email address) and password will remain the same. If you have any trouble logging in to your new mailbox, please let us know at Admin@pwoc.org. More details and tutorials will be arriving soon!

The easiest way to prepare for this change is to employ the use of a Mail Client such as Outlook. There are several free Mail Clients available online that will work quite well for your purposes. Read here to learn more about the advantages of using a Mail Client. Once you get set up with your Mail Client, updating the client for the new server becomes a simple task. You can find instructions for setting up a Mail Client on the PWOC.org WebMail page under the Tutorials tab.

More information will be coming to you as we move forward with this process. It’s a complicated process so again, we thank you in advance for your patience.

To export your online Address Book

  1. In order to export the address book, please try this in FireFox browser.
  2. Log into WebMail for your particular mailbox and then click on ‘Addresses.’
  3. Now enter the URL http://emailmg.startlogic.com/atmail/abook.pl?func=export
  4. in the browser address block at the top of the window.
  5. It will ask whether you wish to save the file, click OK. You will get a CSV file.
  6. You must complete this process No Later Than Friday, July 8, 2011 or your data will be unrecoverable!

May 2010 marked the 1st birthday of the PWOC blog, which led the blog team to ask some pretty tough questions.

  1. What do we do?
  2. For whom do we do it?
  3. How do we excel?

Out of that process, some significant changes were made that we pray will serve the women of PWOC in a more direct and relevant way. Here’s what you can expect to see in the coming months:

Devotions will continue to post on Mondays, but will now be confined to Mondays only.

Tuesdays and Thursdays of each month will bring you updates from each of the eight regions while Wednesdays will bring you updates from each of the four international executive board members. These updates will serve as a great reminder to the body that kingdom work is ongoing and prayer coverage is appreciated.

  • Week 1: Asia & Alaska regions; PWOCI President
  • Week 2: Central & Europe regions; PWOCI 1VP/Spiritual Development
  • Week 3: Northeast & Pacific regions; PWOCI 2VP/Leadership Development
  • Week 4: Southeast & West regions; PWOCI 3VP/Communications

Fridays will be reserved for You! Yes, we’d like to hear from local installations on Fridays. Tell us who you are. How are you unique? How is the PWOC in your area making a difference for the kingdom of God? Share your success stories for cool program ideas, outreach/inreach projects, ways to bless/serve your Chaplains, etc. Share your creativity!

For those of you that enjoy following the weekly Prayer Points, they aren’t going away but will move to a monthly post, the first Friday of each month.

In addition to the regular appearances described above, you can also look for irregular contributions from other PWOC leaders concerning seasonal events such as conferences, training, leadership selection, theme development, resources, etc.

Please let us know what you think of these changes and let us know what you’d like to see here, as well. We love to hear from you!

All submissions are subject to approval and must meet the published submission guidelines for PWOC web content. Entries may be edited for clarity, length or content. The PWOC Blog Manager may be contacted at Blog@pwoc.org.
